Digital Coefficient of Friction Tester

Overview

The coefficient of friction is the ratio of the frictional resistance to the normal pressure acting on two faces in contact. This coefficient of friction is the inverse measure of the relative easy with which one surface moves over surface of another.

The Coefficient of Friction tester manufactured by S.C. Dey also known as slip apparatus is designed to find the “Static” and “Dynamic” coefficient of friction between two surfaces of films. The Coefficient of Friction Tester consists of a metal platform system, which is provided with clamp of the film. The platform is allowed to move at the specified speed through a drive mechanism, driven with the help of a screw driven by a geared frictional H.P. electric motor. A steel sled of specified size and weight and covered with a microcellular rubber sheet is also provided. The smaller specimen is wrapped around the sled and the bigger specimen is clamped to the top of the platform.
